Description
The Mendoza High Mountain Tour is the most rewarding experience you will have during your trip to Argentina. It is a wonderful day trip that takes you early in the morning to enjoy the wonderful colors of the dawn. This spectacular excursion promises to be an unforgettable trip.
The High Mountain Tour takes you to the city of Mendoza in the direction of the magnificent Andes Mountains. During the ascent, we will walk along the banks of the Mendoza River, from where we will observe the first panoramic views of the Cordón del Plata mountain range and the "Embalse Potrerillos" dam, an impressive hydraulic dam that generates energy and supplies drinking water to the surrounding wine-growing areas and to the irrigation systems of the wineries.
The excursion continues to the village of Uspallata, a pre-Hispanic settlement of the Huarpes: the southernmost point of the Inca Empire, where the Inca Trail from Peru ends and where the famous film Seven Years in Tibet was filmed. We will continue through one of the main attractions of Mendoza, the archaeological ruins of the Bóvedas de Uspallata, small almost uninhabited villages such as Picheuta, Polvaredas and Punta de Vacas until we reach Los Penitentes, one of the most important ski resorts in Mendoza where we can take the cable car up and observe the incredible panoramic view of the province of Mendoza.
We will go to the Puente del Inca whose structure is an arch formed naturally by different hot springs. We will go up to a natural viewpoint with a magnificent view of Mount Aconcagua. We will also pass through the Horcones customs complex and reach the border with Chile to visit the European-style city of Las Cuevas, at 3200 meters above sea level.
And finally, between Las Cuevas and the international tunnel that connects Chile and the region is the road that leads to the monument of Christ the Redeemer of the Andes, symbol of the union between Argentina and Chile.
The Excursion to the High Mountain Circuit is an experience not to be missed. Between the imposing beauty of the Andes Mountains and the impressive archaeological sites, you will live a dream adventure, a true journey back in time awaits you to enjoy the beautiful ruins of the Inca period and the best views of the region. Book your guided tour to one of the most beautiful places in Argentina now!
