Itinerary Visit to Lobos Island
The tour departs from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno in San Cristobal. We will board the boat and head 10 kilometers northeast of the port towards Lobos Island. This is a small and peaceful island that is separated by a channel from San Cristobal Island, its coastal vegetation presents plants tolerant to salt water, on which you can see a small colony of common frigate birds; there are also sea lions, blue-footed boobies, a beautiful natural breakwater and other botanical, ecological and recreational attractions.
On the boat trip around Lobos Island you can observe brown pelicans and several species of shore birds. The island's name is given because it is home to several sea lions, which you can see playing on the beach and their brown fur stands out against the white sand.
Then we will snorkel in Gardner Bay, where you can observe young sea lions, skate rays and sea turtles.
We will continue with a walk along a 1400 meter trail, this activity lasts approximately two and a half hours. During the tour we will pass through an area of arid vegetation, volcanic rock substrate and a sandy area. In addition, on Lobos Island you can observe marine iguanas, Chatham's lava lizards, eastern Galapagos snake, blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gull, stonechat, common sandpiper, maria canary, zayapa crabs, the Galapagos sea lion and the white-headed tern, among other species.
Finally, we will take the boat back to Baquerizo Moreno port where this visit to Isla Lobos ends.
