Be at the heart of the action in downtown Bariloche

Downtown Bariloche is ideal for those who want to be within reaching distance of all that Bariloche has to offer and don’t mind the crowds. The city centre is by no means the most beautiful place to stay, but it is certainly the most convenient, as transfer services for all Bariloche tours depart from here. Calle Mitre is the main street, so you will find a number of hotels and hostels along here, as well as souvenir shops, restaurants, confectioneries and Bariloche’s civic centre.

Escape the madness and relax in a cabaña

A cabaña refers to an independent structure with all the basic facilities you’d expect to find in a regular house, but in a smaller and more basic wooden building. Bariloche is home to numerous cabañas, which can be found in its sprawling suburbs. The ones situated alongside the lake offer spectacular views over the water and a relaxing atmosphere, making them ideal for a romantic getaway or family trip. However, as beautiful as these locations are, the downside is that, unless you have a car, it can be tricky to access other tourist attractions. If you want to visit the shops and restaurants in Bariloche’s city centre, be aware that you may end up spending a fair amount on public transport.

It is specifically for those wishing to ski here and there are approximately 5,000 beds distributed between various hotels, hostels, apartments and houses. However, whereas some of these are located in the heart of the village, many which are on the outskirts are quite a walk from the lifts. As well as this, the village is not actually integrated with the ski area, and there’s just one hotel that provides ski-in-ski-out accommodation.
