March is a month full of charm, autumn begins (at least in South America); the temperature drops in the east-south, and storms have not started in the region.  For those who are looking for places to vacation in March with warm weather, you should know that in this area it would not be unusual to reach up to 31ºC of maximum.  One of our favorite spots in Brazil is located a few kilometers from the city of Natal and goes by the curious name of Pipa. Yes, Pipa. Surfers choose Pipa. Young couples choose Pipa. Families choose Pipa. Solo travelers choose Pipa. Europeans choose Pipa. Argentines choose Pipa and many even decide to stay. Once you get to know Pipa you should be careful, because you will be tempted to stay and live there. However, in the Brazilian Northeast we can find beach paradises like Jericoacoara or Canoa Quebrada where we can enjoy sun and sea during most of the year.

This village was once known by hippies, but now it is a place where young people, couples and families enjoy the best beaches in Brazil. The town is small, but it has all the services to enjoy your summer vacations and to enjoy a good shrimp moqueca and a caipirinha after endless beach sessions at Praia do Madeiro or Praia da Cacimbinha.

Travel tip: By the way, if you are a water sports lover, bring your equipment because Pipa has the right conditions for kitesurfing, surfing and windsurfing!

What to visit in Pipa?

1) Dolphin Bay:

Baía Dos Golfihnos is one of the most beautiful beaches in Pipa. Its main attraction is: the dolphins. Boat rides take tourists from Praia Da Pipa (central beach) to Baía Dos Golfihnos and Ponta Do Madeiro, where you can observe these beautiful mammals up close.

2) Paragliding and sandboarding at Cacimbinhas beach.

If you are looking for a landscape with a jaw-dropping view, you must visit the Cacimbinhas beach viewpoint. The place has a beautiful panoramic view of the sea and cliffs.

3) Guaraíras Lake

This is one of the main spots to explore in Tibau do Sul (5km from Pipa).  Reserve a few hours of your day and embark on a boat trip, which includes mud baths in the mangrove, dolphin watching, and a stop to enjoy a delicious barbecue on a sandbank in the middle of the lagoon.

4) Surfing in Praia do Amor

This beautifully named beach is one of the main surfing beaches in the region. It is so named because the cove that surrounds the coast is shaped like a heart. The sea is usually rough and full of waves, but in the right corner of the beach (during low tide) it forms a fantastic natural pool. How do you get there? Very easy. You can get there by walking, from Praia da Pipa it's about 10 minutes.

5) Praia das Minas

Very close to Praia do Amor, Praia das Minas is one of the wildest and most secluded beaches in the region. It is a great option for those tourists looking for tranquility.  This beach is the nesting point for sea turtles. Due to the rough sea and strong winds, Praia das Minas is considered - by many - the best beach for kitesurfing.  Its strategic location guarantees you a unique contact with nature. So get up early, take the opportunity to watch the sun rise over the sea and take a walk along the Falésias das Minas, you will capture beautiful pictures!  Travel tip: Check the Pipa weather forecast for March right now. This will help you prepare your stay in Pipa for different activities: hiking, sightseeing, beach, water sports and more.

You may be wondering then, is it possible to travel to Brazil at this time?

Brazil remains open to tourism and it is possible to enter from different countries as long as you take the relevant COVID-19 PCR test, which must have been done no more than 72 hours before your trip, and you have completed a Traveler's Health Declaration. You can fill it out here.  Also, if you are already there and want to visit other Brazilian wonders such as Salvador de Bahia or the Pantanal, you will be able to do so without problems, as internal transports are still running.

Travel tip: The best way to travel safely and not let any inconvenience ruin an experience that should be unforgettable, is to take out travel insurance to travel to Brazil. Doing so means completely forgetting about possible unexpected complications during the trip and simply enjoying the country without fear. Important Fact: Destinations such as Pipa in Brazil are very feasible to travel to in March, since its borders are not closed and quarantine is not required. Even so, you should consider that most tourists or residents traveling to Brazil must present a negative PCR and the DSV (Traveler's Health Declaration) at check-in. Children under 12 years of age accompanied by an adult with a negative PCR do not need to take the test.   As you will see, exploring Pipa's coastline is not a very difficult task. You can get to know the best places in the region on your own. So we suggest you stay at least 5 full days so you can take advantage and enjoy the main tourist attractions of this wonderful city in South America
