Introducing the Official Match Ball of the 2016 Rio Games: Errejota
The official match football of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro has been revealed. Manufactured by Adidas, the ball – named Errejota – pays homage to daily life in the Marvelous City and displays a green and yellow design inspired by the Brazilian flag.
Produced using the same technology as the one used in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, this ball will offer improved grip and visibility on the field. Later this year, the Errejota will make an appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan and in 2016, the official match ball of the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be used at all official FIFA events.
The launch was attended by athletes sponsored by Adidas and other important figures, most notably Gabriel Jesus of Palmeiras who will likely feature in the Brazilian squad next summer.
