There are places in the world where we can go again and again and again, right? Those places that do not tire you, do not bore you, of those that whenever you go you will get something new.  The Iguazu Falls have special magic and it is no coincidence that they have been called one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of the World". Without a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the globe and it is very well worth visiting.

Watch the waterfall on the total abyss, have the possibility of connecting with the landscape thanks to the walkways that run through the National Park, receive the water from the waterfalls as a kind of “blessing of nature” and contemplate the natural environment, many sometimes accompanied by marked rainbows, it offers us endless emotions and feelings that must be lived at least once in a lifetime. If that doesn't convince you, here are 3 great reasons to visit them:

1- Because it is one of the Wonders of the Natural World

"I understand why it is one of the Wonders of the world," I said open-mouthed at the Devil's Throat.  The sound of the water guides you through the lush vegetation towards the main attraction of the National Park: La Garganta del Diablo, an impressive set of waterfalls that are in the Salto de La Unión and are one of the greatest spectacles of nature. The camera will be splashed with water, the photos may come out blurred ... but your memory, I guarantee, will be indelible.  The Iguazu Falls are located inside the Iguazu National Park, an area of nature preservation. They cover about 67,720 hectares at the northern end of the province of Misiones, in Argentina and the state of Parana, in southern Brazil. It is a system of 275 jumps in the Paranaense Jungle, which are located 17 kilometers from the mouth of the Iguazu River, in the waters of the Paraná River, at which point the three borders are located: Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.  In 2011 the Falls were selected as the New Natural Wonder of the World, in a worldwide vote. In 2013, UNESCO awarded them the recognition of “Outstanding Universal Value” for being a territory of extraordinary cultural and natural importance that transcends national borders and becomes important for the present and future generations of all humanity.

This picturesque means of locomotion transports in its small wagons open to people of all ages willing to adventure. It offers a trip through the park and along the Upper Iguazu River to the beginning of the Upper, Lower and Garganta del Diablo Circuits.

Brazilian Side Vs Argentine Side Which one to choose?

Iguazú means “Agua Grande” in the indigenous language and, more than large, enormous is the admiration caused by the falls to those who visit them.  Each side has its advantage, imagine that you are in a soccer game of your favorite team. On the Brazilian side, you are in the best seat of the gallery, with a total perspective of the game. You have a perfect panorama of the immensity of waterfalls, you see them and enjoy it.  Now imagine you're on the court, playing. That is the Argentine side. Here you are in direct contact with the water. The gateways go below or above and allow you a different connection with the environment. Being a few steps from the Garganta del Diablo, at the height where the fall begins and feeling the abyss, there is something indescribable, perhaps, the best moment of the tour of the Iguazu Falls National Park.   Travel Tip: Get to know both sides of this impressive natural attraction in South America with our  Iguazu Falls Excursion - Argentina and Brazil Package. Ideal for the whole family and for nature-loving travelers!

3- Because you will know practically three countries at the same time

Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Foz do Iguazu is right on the border of these three countries. The confluence of the waters of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers has its greatest landscape scenario in the Tres Fronteras Hito. Both rivers mark the boundaries.

A small obelisk, with the colors of each flag, makes clear what each country is. A show of dancing waters completes the panorama and makes it an ideal place to visit with the boys.  From the upper area, you can see the other landmarks and enjoy the scenery. There is also an Artisan Fair, where you can buy typical crafts from the province. It is also possible to observe the Tancredo Neves bridge, which connects the Argentine city of Puerto Iguazú and its Brazilian neighbor of Foz do Iguaçu.    Travel Tip: Choose iguazu falls from buenos aires and enjoy a complete package with no worries, flights included!

 To be noted:

  •  Always have a poncho or raincoat on hand, in some moments you will need it.
  • Avoid the month of February, as it is the hottest month, with temperatures reaching 38ºC and at night it drops by 10ºC.
  • The best time of the year to visit the Iguazu Falls is between March and May when the rainy season has just ended and it is not as hot as in the middle of the southern summer.
  • You're going to walk and a lot. But calm, it will be worth all the pain in the world. So keep in mind that you need a full day to tour the park well and enjoy it as it should.
  • In both parks there are coatis everywhere, they recommend not feeding them.
  • It is necessary to present the ID or Passport on both tickets. Payments can be made in local currency or by credit card.
  • Reserve the Nautical Adventure! Sailing, approaching the waterfalls, and diving (several times) under one of the most impressive waterfalls in the entire Park, while shuddering with the overwhelming sound near the Devil's throat, is an adventure in itself and a must for those who want to live the falls well from the inside.
  • To have a more WOW experience! You can enjoy a helicopter ride as part of a private tour of the Brazil Falls. This 10-minute flight will give you a complete appreciation of the size of these incredible waterfalls and the surrounding rainforest. You will not be disappointed!
As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to visit them. Dare to discover one of the wonders of the natural world.
