So if you are trying to choose an island to visit and enjoy a fun winter respite, and you still can't decide which one because they all seem wonderful, which is true, because without a doubt, they all have breathtaking beauty and divine weather, you've come to the right place.  Are you ready? Here is our selection:

Barbados

Barbados is the easternmost island in the Caribbean. It is blessed with beautiful beaches and coral reefs that line the coast and attract visitors from all over the world with incredible snorkeling and diving activities. Calm waters make Bath Beach one of the best for swimming; Crane Beach, originally a harbor, is known as one of the most scenic spots on the island; and adrenaline junkies from around the world flock to Silver Sands, a gusty outpost on the south coast, acclaimed for windsurfing. On the west side of the island, in the parish of St. James, lies Paynes Bay, often called the Platinum Coast. It is on this spectacular stretch that you will find La Casa. For couples looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway, there's no better place than this adults-only respite with just a few rooms. For families, there are options as well. They can find fun for all ages with a variety of Bajan activities, from dialect lessons to cricket on the beach (Barbados' favorite sport), as well as snorkeling, kayaking and paddle surfing.   Travel Tip: If Barbados is too far away for you, you already know it or it is not within your options, we recommend visiting Maragogi, the Brazilian Caribbean where you can experience the tropical magic of Brazil with its famous natural pools.   The best Caribbean islands for winter getaways

Bahamas Island

Proximity to Miami (it's only a 30-minute flight) makes the Bahamas a convenient getaway. But once you arrive, you'll feel like you're a world away. That's right!  For starters, the Bahamas is not just one island but 700 islands in the Atlantic. Nassau Paradise Island is a top tourist destination...and for good reason. It has 300 days of sunshine a year, water temperatures averaging 80 degrees and beautiful beaches, especially Paradise Beach on the north shore. A few miles west is Cable Beach, a prime location for luxury accommodations and the site of the highly anticipated Baha Mar Resort, a massive 2,300-room resort encompassing Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, Baha Mar and Rosewood Baha Mar, a Jack Nicklaus-designed 18-hole golf course, as well as the largest casino and the Caribbean's first ESPA spa. But there's much more to explore beyond Nassau. On the east side of Harbour Island is Pink Sands Beach, a three-mile stretch of soft pink shoreline dotted with a handful of private villas and low-rise hotels. The atmosphere is serene and relaxed, and the scenery breathtaking. While there, be sure to savor some local delicacies. For those seeking a secluded getaway should consider The Cove Eleuthera, a high-end boutique resort set on 45 pristine acres. Accommodations include deluxe rooms, suites, villas and cottages. There are also high-end dining options, a spa and a hilltop infinity pool.   Travel tip: If you're in South America and want to escape the cold, Rio de Janeiro's beaches will be one of your first choices. San Andres Island

San Andres is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and as a Seaflower Biosphere Reserve.  This beautiful island of the Colombian Caribbean, small in extension but great in cultural and natural wealth, has been traditionally generous with the tourists that every year travel to know its sea of 7 colors, enjoy its paradisiacal beaches and venture to explore the other two archipelagos that accompany it: Providencia and Santa Catalina.   If you want to know more, read the following article. St Marteen

Golden beaches, crystal clear sea and an endless horizon caressed by the sun. Hidden among the thousand wonders of the Caribbean, this island is the smallest territory in the world to be divided under two different flags: France and the Netherlands share this microscopic tropical corner where palm trees shade tourists and residents alike. This dual designation dates back more than 350 years and is rich in history and anecdotes. Take advantage of the laid-back atmosphere and step up to a jumbo jet at Maho Beach, which is very close to the international airport. Swim in the clean waves at Mullet Bay Beach or find the tranquility you're looking for at Guana Bay Beach. Three sandy beaches with limestone cliffs as a backdrop makeup Cupecoy Beach. Note that at Cupecoy you have the option of practicing nudism.   The best Caribbean islands for winter getaways

Los Roques Island

Definitely, when we imagine ourselves in an island paradise of white sands, turquoise blues, cozy inns and almost deserted beaches, we say that Los Roques is, without a doubt, the most romantic trip you can make in Venezuela. Many couples choose the Los Roques Archipelago for a honeymoon getaway, anniversary or as a very special gift to enjoy together, which is why the inns of this Caribbean destination take great care in welcoming and attending to their guests in love. To fully enjoy the exotic tour to the keys, Los Roques offers multiple aquatic activities, adventure, relaxation and above all contact with nature that captivates ecotourism lovers.   The best Caribbean islands for winter getaways

When to travel to the Caribbean?

It's the usual. Very easy. If you decide to travel in December and until April there is no risk of hurricanes or constant rains and that is why it is the high season and, therefore, everything is more expensive. Then in November it drops about 30%. In general it is advisable to book well in advance (4 months minimum). On the other hand, if you want to go in summer (because you have no other choice), between June and November is hurricane season, so everything is cheaper. Our recommendation would be to book from November to January, which is when temperatures are more pleasant, between 25º and 30º. However, if you want to go in summer and minimize the risk of hurricanes, try the southern part of the Caribbean: Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are a good bet.  With more than 7,000 islands in the Caribbean Sea, choosing where to vacation during the winter months is no easy task, although travelers may lose their imagination once the temperature drops below freezing.
