Itinerary, Excursion to the Tiwanaku Ruins
Tiwanaku is considered one of the oldest civilizations in the Andean region, standing out from the rest for its brilliant cultural development and architectural, astronomical and religious knowledge, which lasted around 3000 years.
This tour to Tinawanaku begins when you are picked up at the hotel and start the journey through the vast Altiplano enjoying a landscape characterized by Andean crops and small houses made of mud bricks called "adobe houses" and you can perceive the lifestyle of its original people: the Aimaras.
The tour
The first stop of this excursion to the Ruins will be at the Tiwanaku Site Museum, where you will appreciate a collection of lithic stones and ceramic pieces discovered in the area.
The next stop will be at the Tiwanaku archaeological site, whose main attraction is the Sun Gate, one of the most impressive megalithic monuments of the Andean past. Here you will find the most important archaeological pieces of the continent.
