The area extends over 41 hectares and is the place that houses the largest number of bears and sea lions in the world. Being discovered in 1516 by Juan Díaz de Solís, this island was originally called San Sebastián de Cádiz and was visited by historical figures such as Gaboto, Mendoza and Magallanes, as well as 2 pirates, Drake and Moreau. It has more than 250,000 sea lions and 1,500 sea lions, in addition to a generous number of cook gulls.
Its most representative autochthonous flora are a couple of exotic species of cactus and one particular species of ferns called Calaguala. Since 1992 this place has been converted into a Natural Reserve, stopping the lobera exploitation and guaranteeing the permanence of its fauna.
