The Montevideo Wine Experience offers a splendid way to spend a quiet afternoon in the capital of Uruguay, in a place specially designed to enhance all your senses while you taste the best wines of the region. Enjoy a unique experience tasting the exquisite flavor of Tannat, emblematic strain of Uruguay, along with other carefully selected variations in the first wine-themed hotel in Uruguay, the My Suites Montevideo Boutique Hotel & Wine Bar.
This luxurious hotel opened its doors in May 2011 thanks to the support of ten Uruguayan wineries that participated in this ambitious project that is now a reality and that completely changed the classic hotel concept in Montevideo.
This Montevideo Experience begins with a warm welcome at the My Suites Montevideo hotel. After admiring the place and its elegant design you will be offered a tasting consisting of 4 wines and some olive oil. The whole tasting is done with a sommelier who will explain the details and characteristics of each drink as well as the origins of the emblematic Tannat. This exclusive tour is accompanied by a great gourmet experience which consists of a generous variety of products from the region such as various types of cheeses, olives, cold meats, and fresh bread.
My Suites Montevideo Boutique Hotel & Wine Bar is located in Punta Carretas, in the heart of Pocitos, one of the most charming neighborhoods of Montevideo on the banks of the Río de la Plata. Each floor is assigned to each of the wineries that participated in the venture. The associated wineries are Bodegas Castillo Viejo, Irurtia, Varela Zarranz, Ariano, Traversa, Marichal, Toscanini, Giménez Méndez, Los Cerros de San Juan and H. Stagnari.
