Itinerary
In a world where the pace of life keeps accelerating and spaces are increasingly occupied by an endless stream of people, it seems incredible to find pleasant backwaters like Praia do Sono, or Sono Beach, a deserted place which can only be reached by walking. A good place to go to clear the mind, while enjoying the scenery and playing in the water.
This journey begins with ground transport taking you from Paraty to the Laranjeiras community, accompanied by a guide who will take you from this point to Sono Beach, along a path through a section of the Atlantic Forest located within the Environmental Protection Area. This walking tour takes about 1 hour; as you walk you’ll see the different types of vegetation and wildlife that live between water sources and viewpoints. You’ll then reach a Caiçara village where you will stop for a break, surrounded by exuberant vegetation, white sand and clear waters. Learn about the ways of the Caiçaras that inhabit this place, as you sit and enjoy one of the dishes prepared by the fishermen, if you wish. At this point, those who want can walk 20 minutes in the company of the guide to Praia dos Antigos. At this deserted beach, you can enjoy the sea before heading to one of the freshwater waterfalls nearby where you can refresh and swim in a natural pool, washing off the salt from the sea. Enjoy this last moment before starting the return to Paraty.
