Itinerary
The Excursion to Torres del Paine from El Calafate is a touristic tour full of adventure with multiple activities. This tour lasts a whole day and leaves from El Calafate crossing the Argentine border into the Chilean Patagonia where the Torres del Paine National Park is located. Here you will enjoy exuberant nature, impressive rocky landscapes, and trails suitable for low difficulty trekking. Panoramic views, glaciers, sparkling lakes, and majestic mountains accompany the entire route.
The Excursion to Torres del Paine begins very early in the morning leaving from El Calafate towards the border crossing of Cancha Carrera. After the customs procedures, we will arrive at the Chilean town of Cerro Castillo. We will take the opportunity to have breakfast and continue the journey. The first stop is at Lake Sarmiento where you can take stunning photos of the most beautiful landscapes around.
Then we arrive at Laguna Amarga Lodge, where we register and pay the entrance to the Torres del Paine National Park, border the lagoon and arrive at the Paine Waterfall where we will have lunch on the banks of the river with a wonderful view of the Towers. We resume the tour making several stops in different viewpoints that offer the most beautiful views of the most attractive and representative places of this impressive tour such as Laguna de Los Cisnes and Nordenskjold Superior Viewpoint.
We will arrive at Salto Grande and trek to the Mirador de Los Cuernos del Paine on the shores of the Lake Nordenskjold, then continue to the new lookout near Lake Pehoé where we can appreciate the most impressive panorama you can imagine, with Los Cuernos and El Valle del French as a background with numerous rivers and water mirrors. The Cóndor lagoon, the Toro lagoon, and the Interpretation Center of the National Park are some of the greatest attractions. After having spent a whole day and lived such a wonderful experience, we then head back to El Calafate, in Argentina.

- COVID-19: Due to current circumstances, the hours have been reduced at the border from 8 am to 4 pm. - Certificate or proof of vaccination from the country where vaccinated. Non-vaccinated persons must present a negative result of a PCR test 48 hours before.
- Children policy: Children from 0 to 11 years pay with descount. To be valid the discount for minors it is necessary to present the photo of the minor's passport, once the reservation is made we will contact you to request it. If necessary, the guide/coordinator of the excursion may ask for the ID of the children.
- Weather Alert: Due to weather conditions, this tour does not run from May to August. If you plan to travel during the months of April or September, we recommend that you consult with our Customer Service team to confirm the tour.
- Not included: The entrance fee to Torres del Paine National Park, we recommend that you purchase your ticket online here https://www.aspticket.cl/ one day before the activity, as there will be no refund.
- Special dates alert: This service does not operate on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st.
- Dietary restrictions: The vianda offers vegetarian, celiac and vegan options, but you must request it at the time of booking. If you wish to bring your own food, it must be packed and dry. It is forbidden to bring fresh food (vegetables, meat, bread) or liquids. Border personnel may retain them, more information here.
- Return alert: At the end of the tour you have 4 options to choose from: 1) return to El Calafate the same day, 2) stay in Torres del Paine (TDP) on your own, 3) take you to Puerto Natales, 4) return to El Calafate the next day; the latter has an additional cost.
