Itinerary
For those travelers who enjoy the mountainous landscapes, the good coffee and the charm of small towns and their inhabitants, we have created this Excursion to Salento and Valle del Cocora.
Salento is a small and very beautiful municipality where you can admire the traditional coffee architecture. When you arrive at the main square, you will find all the diversity and entertainment that Salento offers, such as the famous Cocora Valley full of Colombia’s national tree: the Quindío Wax Palm, the highest in the world (it is 60 meters high). You will have the opportunity to go up to more than 2000 meters above sea level, enjoy a delicious typical lunch of the region and after a short break, you will plant with your hands a wax palm, is it not amazing?
This tour culminates in the streets of Salento, surrounded by old houses of bahareque (built from sticks or reeds interwoven and mud), creative crafts, and a host of viewpoints that allow you to enjoy the Coffee Cultural Landscape, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
With this experience, you can live a quiet day in one of the most picturesque villages of Colombia. Enjoy its delicious cuisine, try the world's richest coffee and find out for yourself about the majesty of the wax palm.
