Itinerary Desert Lake Tour
In a 40km trip from El Chaltén, along the road that follows Route 23, you will find Lago del Desierto. A place that is really a beautiful and spectacular place, where the sparkling waters of the lake are always surrounded by a dense forest of Ñire (Antarctic Beech), which surrounds the glaciers and waterfalls that are under Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
This tour starts with the transfer from El Chaltén, the hiking capital, to Lago del Desierto. Then, from the Punta Sur dock we will sail for about 30 minutes sighting the Huemul and Crestón Glaciers to disembark in the area of the Great Vespignani Glacier.
Once there, the guide will give you the safety guidelines and all the necessary information for the activity. You will have 3 hours to walk all or some of the three proposed trails, perfectly marked according to the difficulty and effort they require.
After a delicious farewell hot chocolate, we will embark back to Punta Sur dock, where you will have free time to enjoy the self-guided trails. We end the activity back in El Chaltén.
