The water that comes from the Cacheuta springs originates in the Andes, where the ice and snowmelt and seep deep into the ground, reaching very high temperatures. It then collides with a granitic rock causing it to rise again to surface at temperatures ranging between 30° and 40° Celsius. These high temperatures mean the water absorbs the minerals it is exposed to, making it highly mineralized. This mineralized natural spring water is then used for hydrothermal therapy because of its healing properties. Hydrology is accepted as part of modern medicine and is recognized by the World Health Organization as Medical Hydrology. It is considered beneficial in the treatment of many health issues such as muscular, respiratory and skin problems, as well as stress.
